Задание вставить артикли. Артикли — это всегда головная боль, потому что такого явления в русском языке нет. В английском же языке это очень важная часть речи, которая помогает уточнять детали. Пренебрегать артиклями не следует ни в разговорной речи, ни, тем более в письменной. Артикли делятся на две группы: неопределенные и определенный.Неопределенные артикли — an \a (ставится с неопределенными существительными в единственном числе + устойчивых словосочетаниях)

Определенный — the (ставится с определенными (конкретно указанными в тексте) существительными в единственном и множественном числе, со превосходной степенью прилагательных (the best pupil) , с порядковыми числительными и проч.)

Сейчас же на некоторых примерах, чисто практически помогу вам разобраться с самых простых предложениях и объяснить, где ставить какой артикль, а где не надо.

• I am from Dmitrov. — Я из Дмитрова. — с названиями городов артикль не ставится. It is ____ small town in ___ Russia. — a small town — прилаг+ сущ. в ед. числе. In Russia — с названиями стран (кроме the USA, the UK , the Russian Federation ) артикль не ставится. It is a small town in Russia.
• I am in ____sixth form. — Я в шестом классе. — the — порядковое числительное. I am in the sixth form
• At___ school we study___English and ___French. — В школе мы учим английский и французский языки. — At school — Уже говорила. С названиями предметов тоже не ставим. At school we study English and French
• ___ school year in ___Russia starts on ____ first of ____September. — Школьный год в России начинается первого сентября. A school year — прил+ сущ в ед. ч. — артикль A\ Russia — страна, без артикля \ on the first — первого — порядковое числительное артикль the \ First of September — с названиями месяцев без артикля. A school year in Russia starts on the first of September.

Кстати, насчет ходить в спортзал — go to ___gym, можно употреблять и без артикля. Значение немного меняется. go to gym — ходить на тренировки, на занятия в спортзал. Go to the gym — тренироваться на оборудовании в спортзале.

• Who helps her about___house? — Кто помогает ей убирать в доме? (по дому?) — about the house — устойчивое предложение (наводить порядок в доме) Who helps her about the house?
• Do you go to___bed at ____10 o’clock? — Ты ложишься спать в 10 часов? — go to bed — ложиться спать — устойчивое выражение без артикля. \ at 10 o’clock — с числительными не употребляется артикль. Do you go to bed at 10 o’clock?
• I made ___new friends ____last summer. — Я завел новых друзей прошлым летом. made new friends — завел новых друзей. прилаг + сущ во множ. числе — без артикля. + устойчивое выражение make new friends. — заводить новых друзей. НО! to make a new friend — в единственном числе артикль понадобится. \last summer — со словом last артикль не ставится.

Артикли в английском языке – настоящее мучение для тех, кто проходит первые уроки. Особенно тяжело они даются детям, которые хотят учить английский. Поначалу артикли всегда кусаются. Но если присмотреться внимательнее, они оказываются вполне «пушистыми зверьками».

Как известно, артикль определяет существительное. Можно сказать проще: существительные в английском языке не могут оставаться в одиночестве, им обязательно необходима компания. Это может быть числительное или местоимение, а за неимением ничего другого – артикль.

Итак, имеется задание: «вставьте артикль где необходимо»

Давайте попытаемся разобраться, где же это необходимо. Где нужно вставлять определенный артикль, а где – неопределенный?

Indefinite (неопределенный артикль а/an) применяется только с исчисляемыми существительными в единственном числе. Например: a cat, an apple. В качестве проверки можно обратиться к переводу: «одно яблоко».

Definite (определенный артикль the) несколько более сложен в употреблении. Он применяется с существительными как в единственном, так и во множественном числе, с исчисляемыми и неисчислимыми. Пример: the table – the tables, the sugar. В качестве проверки можно поставить «этот, эта, это». Именно этот стол, этот сахар. Нельзя сказать, к примеру: «одно яблоки» или «один сахар».

Артикль the может также стоять рядом с порядковыми числительными. Например: the first, the fourth. Не брезгует он и прилагательными: the best.

Артикли разные нужны – но не везде

Поскольку желание вставить артикль где необходимо включает в себя необходимость знать, где же его вставлять не нужно, давайте рассмотрим случаи, в которых артикль the не употребляется.

• Артикль не получится вставить, если перед существительным имеется притяжательное местоимение: His book, her pen или указательное местоимение: This cartoon, this western. Наличие второго существительного в притяжательном падеже также отменяет необходимость в определенном артикле: Mother’s friend. Сюда же относится отрицание «no» (важно помнить, что не «not»!!!). Пример: There is no any money.
• Есть еще один нюанс, на который нужно обратить внимание, выполняя задание «вставьте артикль где необходимо». Упоминая предмет впервые, нужно перед ним употреблять неопределенный артикль («а»), а называя этот же предмет вторично, уже ставится определенный («the»): This is a book. The book is interesting.
• Существуют словосочетания-исключения, в которых артикль не употребляется: At school, аt home, аt work. Их нужно запомнить.
• Прилагательное, относящееся к существительному, вклинивается между артиклем и существительным: This is a good book.

В некоторых случаях даже при первом упоминании предмета, перед ним ставится определенный артикль: если это единственный в мире предмет (The sun is shining brightly); если предмет определенный по ситуации (Put the book on the table).

Огромное количество словосочетаний, в которых артикль традиционно отсутствует или употребляется, необходимо выучить наизусть. Например, In the corner, In the morning, At night, After work…

Вставьте артикль где необходимо в случаях с географическими названиями

• Определенный – когда называются реки, каналы, моря, заливы, проливы, океаны, архипелаги, горные цепи.
• Не употребляется: когда называются озера, отдельные горные вершины, отдельные острова, города, страны, континенты.
• Исключениями являются: The United States of America, the Ukraine, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Crimea, the Netherlands, the Congo.

Перед каждым нарицательным существительным должен стоять артикль.

Артикль не употребляется, если перед существительным стоит притяжательное (my) или указательное (this) местоимение, другое существительное в притяжательном падеже (father"s), количественное числительное (five) или отрицание "nо" (не "not" ).

Упоминая предмет впервые, мы употребляем перед ним неопределенный артикль а(аn) . Упоминая этот же предмет вторично, мы ставим перед ним определенный артикль the .

Неопределенный артикль a (an) может употребляться только с исчисляемыми существительными, стоящими в единственном числе. Перед неисчисляемыми существительными или существительными во множественном числе неопределенный артикль опускается. Определенный артикль the употребляется как с исчисляемыми, так и с неисчисляемыми существительными, как с единственным, так и с множественным числом.

Кроме того существует огромное количество так называемых "застывших словосочетаний," в которых артикль употребляется или отсутствует традиционно. Эти словосочетания приходится заучивать наизусть.

Существительное, стоящее в скобках, может быть любым. Прилагательное также может быть любым. Вместо предлога "on " может быть любой другой предлог иди заменяющее его словосочетание, напр., "in front of ".
